As I walked into the Rapids game last night I was disappointed to see how empty the stadium was... The last game I went to was the LA Galaxy (and Beckham or is it the other way around?) vs. CO Rapids. That game was packed, the stands we roaring and the crowd was always on it feet. It was the first time I had been to the new Dick's Sporting Goods Arena and it was intense.
This time it was more like a ballet than a sporting event. People sitting in there seats the whole game with no excitement to be found. I was glad to have gone, but not impressed by the performance of either team. I was really looking forward to seeing Everton display some Premier League skill and patience, but it was not to happen.
The highlight of the game came in the 104th minute (game was over). A few guys jumped the fence and ran onto the field. As the police chased them off the field and into the stands I watched some of the best footwork of the night. Good show CCPD!
